Finally, the new method of inputting fractions, exponents, integrals, derivatives, etc is extremely nice. Rather than inputting fractions as "5/7" and exponents as "6^2" (as you would on the TI-84, for example), the TI-Nspire allows you to enter them exactly as they would look on paper, using a horizontal fraction bar and superscripts for exponents. As noted before, this concept carries over to many other features, such as derivatives, summations, integrals, etc. You definitely need to give the calculator a try to fully experience how much simpler it is to input expressions on the TI-Nspire if you're coming from an older calculator such as the TI-84 or TI-83. | I have used the ti89 for quite a while, and also Casio Classpad (which I did not like that much), and the menus on the Nspire are much easier to navigate than on the 89. The display on the Nspire CX is crisp. Most of the functions I thing one could require from a high end calculator are there (or could be programmed or downloaded). One can program it in Ti-basic (which runs about 30 times faster than on the 89) or in Lua, that is about 30 times faster still. The keyboard is much better than on the previous Nspire models. The 3D graphing could be better. The increased speed over the 89 means that it can solve harder problems in reasonable time, for example isPrime(2^127-1) is instantaneous on the Nspire, but takes over half a minute on the 89. (About previous user comment about press-to-test, To get into that mode you have to press ESC and at the same time ONn for about a second, and then answer yes to a question. What I want to say is that I bought this calculator and have had it for 3 months and I love it. It works perfectly and it blows the other calculators out of the water. I have had a Ti 85, 86 and a ti 89 titanium. This is a next gen calculator so don't be a purist and expect it to work like your 1996 calculator did.
